Policies

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

 Attendance – Attendance at all class sessions is required.  Students are also expected to attend individual meetings with their assigned instructor.  Any absence will result in 1/3 of final grade reduction. In addition, it is a common courtesy to notify the instructor if a student is going to miss or be late to class.

EmailInstructor(s) will send class updates and materials via course website and/or Whittier College e-mail; you are expected to check your poet email daily.

Accommodations – Students who have documented disabilities should contact the Disability Services Office for assistance, securing all necessary accommodations.  The Disability Services Office is located in Science 105, and the office number is (562) 907 – 4825.

Disclaimers

The instructor reserves the right to amend this syllabus at any point during the semester in order to facilitate the educational objectives of the course.  In the event any changes are made, students will be provided with hard copies of the updated version.

Papers

Papers are to be written in Times New Roman font, size 12, margin size 1 inch (any other settings will lower your grade). All the papers are to be double-spaced, with your name, INTD class identification (with section), and assignment name on the top of the first page only (no cover pages). Extra credit in form of a smile & a nod will be given to all those who print double-sided or use recycled paper. Some instructors may request assignments be turned in electronically.

Grading

All participants must submit a CLP and complete an oral examination. All assignments must be completed.  If the portfolio or oral examination do not exceed expectations, you will be required to file for an incomplete in order to receive additional time to complete the assignment(s). If you have any questions, please contact your instructors.  Points will be awarded as follows:

50% CLP Content | 30% CLP Presentation | 10% Website Design | 10% Participation
